United in Matrimony
Mandy Elizabeth Chandler of Laurel became the bride of James D. Cheeks of Richton at 6 p.m. January 19, 2008, at Magnolia Baptist Church in Laurel.
The bride is the daughter of Jimmy and Leanne Chandler of Laurel.
The groom is the son of Roy D. and Doris Cheeks of Richton and the late Linda Johnson.
Dr. James P. Cook, pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church, performed the ceremony and also sang.
Susan Smith sang an Irish prayer, acapella.
Gloria Ladner, a very close friend of the family, served as pianist and musical entertainment for the reception.
Given in marriage by her father, Jimmy C. Chandler Jr., the bride wore a strapless ivory taffeta a-line gown with a beaded shirred bodice and pick-up skirt with a chapel train.
Eric Murphy of the Sweetwater Community, served as best man.
Michelle Chandler of Laurel, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Molly Chandler of Laurel, sister of the bride, served as Junior Maid of Honor.
Bridesmaids were Kalee Johnson, Nicole Cotten, Angela Bush Graham and Susan Smith.
Groomsmen were Michael Pitts, brother of the groom; Robbie Powell, Mark Smith, Michael Fontenot and D. J. Parish.
Ushers were Joe Chandler, uncle of the bride; Ford McLeod Jr., uncle of the bride, and Josh Chandler, cousin of the bride.
Paige McLeod, first cousin of the bride, attended the guest registry.
Lexie Butler, friend of the family, served as flower girl.
