Tornadoes recognized

— The Laurel High School Tornado Diamond Club held its annual awards banquet recently to honor the Tornadoes for their 2009 baseball season.
The following senior baseball players and Diamond Darlings were recognized: Anthony McCarty, Brett Moss, KylanPollard and Josh Seabrook; Iesah Barnett, Ebony Dixon, Tiffany Husband, Leah King and Katy Thomas.
Awards given were Brett Moss, Most Valuable Pitcher, Most Valuable Player and Mr. Tornado Baseball; Darien Bester, Offensive Player of the Year; Daniel Attaway, Defensive Player of the Year; Brandon Freeman Versatility Award, Kylan Pollard; and Rookie of the Year.
Ulmer, Moss and Bester were also recognized for making the First Team All District and the All Jones County team. Attaway was recognized for making the Second Team All District and the All Jones County team.
