As Jordan Sims, the 2007-2008 Mississippi State President retires from office, the Jasper County chapter of the FFA now has another representative at the state level. Kayla Walters, Jasper County Chapter Jr. President, has been elected to serve the state as the 2008-2009 Jr. Treasurer. Walters has been an active member of the Jr. FFA for the past five years. She is a student at Stringer Attendance Center and will begin the eighth grade this fall. Her first assignment as State Treasurer was to assist with the 2008 Leadership Camp, held at the FFA Center in Raymond. She will be involved with the planning and instructing of the workshops throughout the day during the JR FFA retreat in December. Walters will be helping out with other scheduled events including the State Fair in Jackson and the 2009 Mississippi FFA Convention which will be held in June at MSU.
