Learning to read in a unique way

Photo/Submitted

Sandra Norris’s first grade class at Glade Elementary recently invited their parents and Jones County Superintendent of Education Steve Thrash to watch them perform their “can do chants.” Norris created the chants as learning techniques to help children learn to read in a fun, productive way. Before the first graders performed, Norris excitedly reported that all the children in her class can read and will be promoted to second grade. Above, first graders actively get involved in performing the “can do” chants which have helped them learn to read.
