Wellness Walk Parade at South Jones

Photo/Submitted

South Jones Elementary K-6 students, teachers, and parents participated in a “Wellness Walk” as part of the Health Council Fitness Program, and the “Let’s Go Walking Mississippi Program.” Classes are taught the importance of walking for good health. The classes created hats and banners for the “Wellness Walk Parade.” Students walked approximately 1 mile around the campus while enjoying singing and chanting. Several classes made up their own chants pertaining to healthy bodies and fitness. The students are becoming aware of the benefits of walking and exercising for healthier bodies and minds.
