Our Pipeline

Ever since I was a little girl, we have had the worst water pressure on my street, but all the residents sort of put up with it thinking that was just the way it is.

The city did some tests on the old pipeline and found we were surviving on the tiniest pipes. In fact, they were so tiny that they were below Health Department regulations so they had to be replaced. Before a new pipeline could be put in, some tests had to be done on the old one. In addition to the tiny size, a leak was discovered that was causing double-trouble for us! Since the new pipeline was put in, I’m proud to say that we have great water pressure. When I have my hair washed, it’s nice to be able to get all the soap out!

God also has His regulations for us. Before He can do the work in and through us, He knows that our “pipeline” needs to be enlarged and our “leaks” fixed. The size of our pipeline will determine the amount of His power we can have. Spending time with God in prayer and in His Word and having a life pleasing to Him will determine the size of our pipeline and its flow. We can just get by with our small link, or we can cooperate with God by striving to enlarge it.

After He does His work in us, we are so thankful. We look back and can’t believe we were doing just enough to barely get by in this life and thought that was just the way it is. God wants us to understand that our fellowship with Him is all about the size of our “pipes.” God wants to flow in and through us with no leaks allowed!
