He is able

By Tracy Traylor

Being disabled for so long has made me appreciate the word “able.”

I’m just not “able” to do a lot of things. In fact, I can’t even have a normal life! Actually, we are all “disabled” in this life because of sin. We can’t save ourselves, have a holy life on our own, control what happens minute by minute; we just are not able.

It has taken many years for me to realize that this life is not about Tracy; it is all about Jesus and what He is able to do. Let me mention just three of the many “ables” in the Bible:

1. He is able to save us completely. (Hebrews 7:25)

2. He is able to keep us from falling. (Jude 24)

3. He is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

We have a great God who loves us, wants His best for us, and is able to do all things. We might have a disability, but we can let Christ be our ability!
