Baccalaureate service
The Morning Star Church will have their Baccalaureate service at 10:50 a.m. May 18. The public is invited to attend. Deborah Jones will be the speaker for the service. Dr. W. C. Davis, Jr. is pastor.

Friend Day
Rev. Jimmy Holder and members of the Florence congregational Methodist Church at Sandersville are hosting “Friend Day” at the church on Sunday, May 18. Worship services will begin at 10:30 in the morning. Lunch will be served following the morning services. A line-up of individual and group singers will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m., culminating with the music of the gospel trio, In Faith. New Wine Quarter
New Wine Quartet will be singing at 6:30 p.m. May 17 at First Baptist Church in Rose Hill. This will be the kickoff for their revival May 18 - 21 with lunch on Sunday and services 7 p.m. nightly. For more information on the sing, call 601-382-1580. Everyone is invited to attend.

Song Fest
St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church Combined Choirs will host a “Song Fest” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3. Many guest choirs, groups and soloist will be singing and praising God with songs of praise. The church is located at 512 South Sixth Avenue. Everyone is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Saints Alive
Faith Assembly of God and Pastor Grant Duncan invite the public to Saints Alive. There will be prayer, praise, and devotion. Food, fellowship, and fun . . . so take your favorite finger food! Everyone is welcome. The group meets again May 3 at 6 p.m. Saints Alive takes place the first Saturday of each month. The church is located on Indian Springs Road in the Pendorff Community.

Anniversary and Banquet
Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its Pastor’s Pre-Anniversary Banquet featuring the gospel voices of the Holy Spiritualaires & Vision of Faith at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
The Pastor’s anniversary will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4. The speaker will be Rev. L. C. Firle.
Both events will be held at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, located at 6200 Highway 84 West, where Rev. J. N. Armstrong, Sr. is the Pastor. The public is invited.

Revival
The pastor and members of Second Baptist Missionary Church, 108 Oak Park Blvd. in Laurel invites the public to their annual revival beginning Monday, May 12, through Friday, May 16. Services will begin at 7:15 p.m. nightly. The speaker will be Rev. A. G. McSwain, pastor of Sunlight Baptist Church in Laurel.

Rummage sale
Restoration Life Christian Center will have a rummage sale beginning at 8 a.m. until on May 2 and 3rd, at 808 Ellisville Blvd. in Laurel in the old flee market building, down the street from the Coca-Cola plant. There will be a dollar bag special between 8 and 9 a.m.

Women’s conference
Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church on Friendship Rd. in the Hoy community will have a Women’s Conference from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, May 17. The speaker will be Sandra Hancock and Gwendlyn Taylor. Breakfast and lunch will be served. There will be a $5 donation.

Building fund revival
Sweethope Baptist Church will be having a building fund revival beginning at 7:15 p.m. May 12-16. Services will be held at the old Springhill Baptist Church, located at 509 Grady Street in Ellisville. The speakers will be as follows: Monday night - Rev. Wilford Bridges; Tuesday night - Rev. Jaymar Jackson; Wednesday night, Rev. Leander Bridges; Thursday, Rev. Vernon Graves; and Friday night, Rev. Samuel Newton will be the speaker. The public is invited to attend.

Baccalaureate service
Rev. Leander Bridges and members of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church of Ellisville invites the public to their annual Baccalaureate services in recognition of high school and college graduates to be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18. Rev. Abraham McKenzie, Jr. will be the speaker.
Any high school or college graduate who would like to participate in these services are asked to call the church at 601-477-8463 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The necessary preparations will need to be made for the church program. We ask that all interested graduates call the church at your earliest convenience.
The public is also invited to the annual church musical at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 24.

Bishop Paul S. Martin
Gateway Baptist Church in Lumberton will host Bishop Paul S. Martin, an international presiding bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. Martin will speak May 9 at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1130 W. Hwy. 13. For more information, call 601-577-1235.

Ladies conference
Sandra Hancock Ministries will present a ladies conference on Saturday May 3, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Laurel Hotel and Conference Center (Ramada Inn). Sandra will teach a powerful message of encouragement to women of all ages and denominations. Lydia and Eric Kluksdahl, Tracy Wamble, and April Davis will lead praise and worship. Eric and Lydia have ministered at the Dream Center in Los Angeles, California. Eric was lead guitar for Alice Cooper. Come and get super-charged by the power of God! There are no admission costs! 154th anniversary
Indian Springs Baptist Church will celebrate its 154th anniversary with a Homecoming service on Sunday morning, May 4. Rev. Sonny Atkins will be bringing the message and Joey McGill will be directing the music. A fellowship meal will follow the service. Make your plans to attend, and invite family and friends.

Food demonstration
The Episcopal Church Women are sponsoring a Food Demonstration at St. Johns’ Episcopal Church on Tuesday, May 6. The delightful and creative chef and caterer, Fran Ginn of Columbia and our own Fr. Paul Stevens will be the featured chefs. Lunch is $25 beginning at 10:30 a.m. and dinner is $35 at 6 p.m. For tickets call Katie Sullivan at 601-425-4099.

Church music workshop
There will be a church music workshop June 20 and 21 at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church of Ellisville. The facilitator for this event will be Dr. Raymond Wise, composer and assistant professor of music at Ohio State University. Registration fees for the workshop will be as follows: $25.00 per person (5 people or less); $20.00 per person (six to 20 people) and $15.00 per person (21 or more people). This fee covers the cost of music, handouts and meals. Dedication services
The pastor and members of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Heidelberg will hold their Dedication Services Sunday, May 4. Sunday School will be in the Fellowship Hall. Morning worship service will be held in the sanctuary. Rev. George Ducksworth will bring the morning message. Everyone will assemble outside the newly renovated sanctuary at 11 a.m. The afternoon message will be presented by Rev. Advil McKenzie, Pastor of St. Matthews of Shubuta and Shiloh of Quitman.
