n Members of Old Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Hebron will celebrate the fourth anniversary of their pastor, Marvin Chapman, and his family March 11.
Worship will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Curtis Hill as speaker. The Rev. Vernon Graves of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel will speak at 3 p.m.

n Trinity Baptist Church will conduct a 50th anniversary celebration March 25. The service will include singing, preaching and video presentations highlighting the history of the church.
The Rev. Keith Yelverton and the congregation invite all current and former members to join them at 10 a.m. The Rev. Harrison Weger, a former pastor at Trinity, will present the message. The service will be followed by a covered dish meal in the fellowship hall and then an afternoon of music in the sanctuary. There will be no evening message.

n Highland Baptist Church in Laurel will host a revival March 25-27, with Dr. Fred Luter Jr. as the speaker.
Luter is the senior pastor of Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, La. When he was elected as pastor of this congregation in 1986, Franklin Avenue was a small Southern Baptist mission church with 65 members on roll. By 2005, the church had grown to more 7,000 members, making Franklin Avenue the largest Southern Baptist church in Louisiana.
Luter has preached all across the country for various revivals, evangelism conferences, association meetings and state conventions. He was chosen as the first African American to preach the convention sermon at the Southern Baptist Convention, and has had the opportunity to do so numerous times since.

Former pastor Dr. H. Frank Harmon will be the guest speaker. Harmon was pastor at Magnolia Street Baptist Church from 1976-1979. He is married to the former Nancy Wally, and they have two children, Betsy and Jon Micah. Since leaving Magnolia, Harmon has been the pastor at several churches within Mississippi and also interim at various churches in Mississippi. Presently he serves on the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and as Mississippi director of church-minister relations. He has also been a member of various civic organizations throughout his ministry.Harmon and his wife live in Brandon.
Gloria Ladner will lead the music during this year’s homecoming. She was the music minister for a number of years during the 1990s. Presently, she is the music minister at Walker Hill Baptist Church in Brandon.

Ariel Ball is a 14-year-old young lady fighting her second battle with osteosarcoma-bone cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
