Obituaries for Monday, March 24, 2008



William Edwin Bisping

William Edwin Bisping, 74, of Ellisville, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at New Hope Baptist Church in Ellisville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. W.A. Fordham will officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

A U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, he was a retired patient representative with Hattiesburg Clinic and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford Bisping and Elsie Loveland; sister, Judy Everett, and step-brother, Kelly Bisping.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bucklew Bisping of Ellisville; son, Michael Bisping of Dade, Fla.; daughters, Renee K. Spencer of Hattiesburg, and Traci Pipkins of Ellisville; step-father, Melvin Loveland of LaCenter, Ky.; step-sister, Peggy Bisping and step-brother, Tommy Bisping, both of Lenox, Ill.; grandchildren, Shane Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Savannah Spencer, Cody Pipkins, Taylor Pipkins, and Morgan Pipkins.

Pallbearers will be Tony Pipkins, Steve Spencer, Shane Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Cody Pipkins and Randy Fullen.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Johnson

Doris Johnson, 81, of Ovett, formerly of Sandersville, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Walters Cemetery in Perry County. Revs. Scott Davis, David Parker and Randy Miller will officiate.

She was a retired nurse and a member of Kingston Assembly of God church in Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Johnson; parents, Claude and Susie Guthrie, and a brother ,Al Dean Guthrie.

She is survived by a son, Robert Deas of Ovett, and two daughters, Sheila Walters of Ovett and Juanita Walters of Sandersville; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
