DEATHS
Thomas N. Hinton
Thomas N. Hinton, 82, of Soso, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Perry County Nursing Home in Richton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel with burial in Union Line Cemetery in Jones County.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy Hudgins
Jimmy Hudgins, 43, of Moselle and formerly of Petal, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Petal with burial to follow in Moselle Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Thompson will officiate.
Mr. Hudgins was a member of Moselle Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Hudgins.
Survivors include his parents, John and Joann Hudgins of Moselle; two brothers, Johnny Hudgins and Donald Hudgins, both of Moselle; and a sister, Georgia Shows of Petal.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. this evening at Moore Funeral Home in Petal, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy Dale McCullum
Jimmy Dale McCullum, 51, of Taylorsville, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Taylorsville, with burial in he church cemetery. The Rev. O. D. Evans will officiate.
He was an employee at Parker’s Processing Plant.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred M. McCullum.
He is survived by his mother, Ida Mae McCullum of Taylorsville; four brothers, and a sister-in-law, Larry and Ruth McCullum, Jerry McCullum, Johnny McCullum and Freddie D. McCullum all of Long Beach, Calif.; five sisters, Janie M. Barnes of Taylorsville, Rose McIntosh, Edith McIntosh, Martha Washington and Irma J. Berger all of Long Beach, Calif.; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Young’s Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.

Ann Dennis Prince
Ann Dennis Prince, 78, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of Laurel, died Friday, March 14, 2008, in Canton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Rhoden Funeral Home Chapel in Canton, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Oak Park High School.
She is survived by four sons, Darnell Prince, Robert and Loretta Prince, Ronald and Rochelle Prince, Bernard and Yvonne Prince all of Canton, Ohio; a daughter, Pamela Prince of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Christine Dennis Hilton of Laurel and Velma Dennis Crook of Cleveland, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Rhoden Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Edward Steve Smith
Edward Steve Smith, 43, of Heidelberg, died Friday, March 14, 2008, in Heidelberg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at Triumph Church of God and Christ in Heidelberg, with burial in the church cemetery. Elder Charlie George will officiate.
He was self-employed and was a member of Triumph Church of God and Christ.
He is survived by his father, Fred Kennedy of Gulfport; mother, Mamie Ruth McGill of Shubuta; daughter, Anisha Jordan of Washington State; two brothers, Ernest M. Smith of Laurel, Jeff Alvin McGill of Shubuta; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Sam Carter in Laurel, Velisa Patton and Michael Patton of Waynesboro, Katie McGill of Shubuta and Vera Kennedy of Gulfport.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at Triumph Church of God and Christ.
Chapel of Angels Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Mae Stringer
Bessie Mae Stringer, 90, of Bay Springs, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at New Home Baptist Church in Bay Springs with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Scott Walters, Eddie Bryant, and Matt Flynt will officiate.
Mrs. Stringer was a retired homemaker and a 76-year member of New Home Baptist Church in Smith County. She was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Stringer; son, Charles Larry Stringer; and parents, Charlie and Cozzie Ishee Lightsey.
Survivors include her son, Max Ray Stringer of Bay Springs; daughter, Carolyn Andris of Red Bluff, Calif.; brother, Barney Lightsey of Shreveport, La.; sisters, Dorothy Lightsey Jones of Bay Springs and Juanita Lightsey Jones of Atlanta; grandchildren, Sheila Stringer Daniel, Vivian Stringer McCarty, Karen Danielle Stringer, and Wesley Andris; and great-grandchildren, Kotton McCarty, Kortlyn McCarty, Abigail McCarty, Ryan Daniel, and BreAnna Daniel.
She will be placed in the church at 1 p.m., just before the funeral. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. this evening at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, which is in charge of the arrangements.
