Fedora says Eagles ready for two-a-days
The Sun Herald
Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora put his squad through a spirited two-hour-plus workout Wednesday afternoon in full pads.
The Golden Eagles worked through a hot, sunny day with the temperature reaching into the 90s.
Southern Miss will go through its first two-a-day practices today. Fedora said his team is ready for the extra practice time.
"They have been preparing for a long time," he said.
That's why you have two-a-days."
Marcus Tillman, Greg Hardy and Peria Jerry turned in solid performances.
LSU -- The third day of preseason camp had LSU putting on shoulder pads as the Tigers worked out in two split-squad practices at the Charles McClendon facility.
"Today was really the first hot day," coach Les Miles said. "We were in shells, and it was good. It made for a very competitive morning with the veterans."
The Tigers will have one final day of split-squad practices before the team will work out as a full unit for the first time on Friday, when they will also be in full pads for the first time.
