Ala-Miss Classic returns to Dec. weekend
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic will be played on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The date announced Friday moves the game back to the weekend. It was played on a Monday last December after being staged on the first Saturday in June since its inception in 1988.
The move to December was made necessary by the earlier summer reporting date required of many senior players by their respective colleges and universities.
The move is designed to give coaches a better opportunity to attend the game. The afternoon kickoff will give players more travel time to get home afterward.
Spain Park coach John Grass will lead the Alabama team.
