Above, two people escaped serious injury when the early 1990s Honda Accord in which they were riding crashed into, and snapped, a utility pole on Township Road in the Tuckers Crossing community. Responders at the scene said the driver, transported to a hospital, had minor injuries while the passenger had a bloody nose. The case of beer seen in the car may or may not have been a factor. That information wasn’t available at the scene. Left, fallen power lines remain on Township Road after a Honda Accord snapped a power pole. The live power lines shorted and caught fire, damaging the asphalt. Glade Volunteer Fire Department’s Rescue 1 and Engine 1 were joined by Powers Heavy Rescue 1, EmServ, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Dixie Electric, and Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna. A volunteer fire fighter was also treated at the scene for an asthma attack.
