Driver runs into garbageman

A Jones County garbage service worker was injured after being struck by a car while picking up residential garbage on Pecan Grove Road on Tuesday. The call was dispatched to emergency service units at 9:16 a.m. with Glade Rescue 1, Powers Rescue 2, EMServ Ambulance Service, Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna and two units from the Jones County Sheriff's Department responding to the call. The unidentified worker was treated at the scene by EMServ paramedics, but declined transport to the hospital. The unidentified driver of the Chevy Malibu involved in the accident was not injured.
