Ellisville prepares to discuss next budget

By Steve Sanders, countyreporter@laurelleadercall.com

The city of Ellisville’s budget process begins next week when department heads begin submitting their budget requests for the new fiscal year.

A time and date for the board of aldermen to meet to discuss the budget had not been set as of Thursday.

According to City Clerk Kathy Brewer, she will meet with Mayor Tim Waldrup and the board, and then she will put together a proposed budget for the board’s consideration.

The board will refine the budget, which is to be adopted by September 15.

A public hearing concerning the budget is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 5 p.m., 30 minutes before the board’s regularly scheduled meeting.
