Emily Key and Melissa Williamson founded the SAIL support group at their church after realizing the need for parents going through infertility or the loss of a baby, unborn or newborn.

The SAIL support group and members of Heritage United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg donate time and goods to create Memory Boxes. The boxes are given to mothers who have lost an unborn or newborn child.

“It’s beautiful,” Williamson said. Key added, “It’s a way to validate, honor, and remember babies.”

The next balloon release will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg at 6:30 p.m. August 19. Plus, Key and Williamson each said the loss doesn’t have to be recent, but is also open to mothers who lost babies several decades ago.
