On Sunday, July 20 around 9 p.m., Jones County Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up at the 400 block of Myrtle Drive in Laurel.
According to Sheriff Alex Hodge, “Jones County deputies had previously met with the homeowner regarding an ongoing problem with the homeowner’s ex-husband, Johnny Milner.
“Upon responding to the residence, deputies observed Milner driving from the scene of the 400 block of Myrtle Drive. Jones County deputies stopped Milner and shortly thereafter learned that Milner’s ex-wife reported that he forced open a door to her home and was waiting on her when she arrived. The victim also reported that Milner attempted to assault her.”
Johnny Milner, 50, of the 700 block of N. 30th Ave. in Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged for burglary, DUI-2nd offense, and driving while license suspended.
Hodge commended the patrol division for this arrest. He said, “I am very pleased with the job performance of the men and women in the patrol division. They work really hard to provide the best law enforcement to the citizens of Jones County.”
Milner remains in the Jones County Adult Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
On Friday, July 18 shortly after 6 p.m., Jones County deputies arrested Sidney Barrow, 44, of the 600 block of Paulding Road in Ellisville, for possession of a weapon after a felony conviction.
“Jones County deputies were investigating allegations of illegal activities at Barrow’s residence when a 20-gauge shotgun was recovered in his home,” Hodge said.
Barrow also had other previous felony convictions.
He was booked in the Jones County Adult Detention Center.
