JCSD makes several arrests
The Jones County Sheriff's Department made another arrest Thursday in connection with the theft of a trailer earlier this month.
Sheriff Alex Hodge identified the man as Nicholas Dale Wells, 17, of Holmac Road, Heidelberg. The sheriff's office said Wells has been certified as an adult in the case.
Ellis Ishee, 37, of the 300 block of Mack Brown Road, Ellisville, was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the theft.
Hodge said an 18-foot utility trailer was reported stolen on July 8 from Sim's Family Grocery, 1037 Highway 15 South, Laurel. The trailer was later located on Howze Road in Ellisville.
Wells is charged with grand larceny and was being held in the Jones County Adult Detention Center.
An Ellisville woman is in jail on a charge of grand larceny of an automobile. Hodge said Shaelunda Kirkland, 18, Ellisville, is in jail after taking her foster mother's car and driving it to Simpson County, where it was later recovered and returned to the owner.
She was being held in the adult detention center.
