NEW - Clarksdale police chief arrested

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) — Clarksdale Police Chief Gregory Hoskins has found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Officials say Hoskins was charged in Southaven with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of resisting arrest early Sunday. He would not comment Tuesday when contacted by The Associated Press.

Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said Hoskins' arrest came Sunday after officers were called to disturbances at two convenience stores.

Long would not comment on what force was necessary to arrest Hoskins, who later posted $2,400 bond and was released from Southaven police custody.
