Jones County deputies arrested another person on the sheriff’s department “Most Wanted” list Monday morning.

According to Sheriff Alex Hodge, deputies and Laurel police officers surrounded a residence at 16 College Drive around 9:30 a.m. Monday, and took Kendrick Page, 27, 18 Luke Aldridge Rd., Laurel, into custody.

Page’s photo and information appeared in the Saturday edition of the Laurel Leader-Call. He was wanted for felony fleeing and also wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

“Again, I want to thank the Laurel Leader-Call, the citizens of Jones County and Crimestoppers for their cooperation in our ‘Most Wanted’ program,” Hodge said. “We’re batting 1,000 percent with the Leader-Call and the Most Wanted. This is a great partnership they’ve joined in. So far, everyone we’ve been able to put in the paper has come back with an arrest.”

The tip on Page came through Crimestoppers, Hodge said. “Our investigators, deputies and the police department went up there, surrounded the house and made contact with the owner, who was at work. She called Mr. Page and asked him to step out of the house.

“He was not coming out at the time,” Hodge said. “After the homeowner was advised that we were fixing to come in on a search warrant if he didn’t come out, he came out without incident and was arrested.”

Hodge said the home was owned by a friend of Page’s.

Page was being held in the Jones County Adult Detention Center on $20,000 bond. Authorities have been looking for Page since a May 22 incident on McMillan Road in which he refused to stop for a traffic violation.
