JACKSON (AP) — A Mississippi man was being treated Wednesday at a Memphis hospital after being shot in an alleged crime spree in which he's accused of killing one person, kidnapping another, robbing a grocery store and injuring a sheriff's deputy.
Authorities say Mario Taylor of Tate County faces murder and various charges following the alleged crime spree that began with a domestic violence call about 5:23 p.m. Tuesday and ended a short time later after a police chase.
The names of the person killed, the deputy, and the alleged kidnapping victim were being withheld by authorities while an investigation continues in the case. DeSoto County District Attorney John Champion revealed the charges against Taylor at a news conference in Tate County.
