A Jones County man is in jail again — this time with his bond revoked — after being arrested for the second time in three weeks on drug-related charges.
Sheriff Alex Hodge identified the man as Kelvin Nixon, 33, 317 Red Hill Florence Road. Nixon has a Heidelberg address.
Deputies arrested Nixon March 7 and charged him with possession of precursors with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was released on bond.
Deputies arrested Nixon again Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. after executing a search warrant at his residence. He is now additionally charged with possession of precursors with intent to manufacture while in possession of a firearm.
Nixon’s bond was revoked in Jones County District Court Wednesday afternoon, and he remains in the Jones County Adult Detention Center awaiting trial.
“We will not tolerate drug offenders,” Hodge said. “We will seek the maximum sentence for those who wish to manufacture or sell narcotics in Jones County.”
