Traffic stop yields rolling meth lab

By Eloria Newell James, community@laurelleadercall.com

Two people are behind bars following a traffic stop Tuesday evening that led to the discovery of a rolling meth lab.

Shuanita Weathersby, public relations director for the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, said deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 15 South in Jones County Tuesday shortly after 5 p.m. that landed two suspects behind bars for “Meth.”

Patrick Russell and Rhonda Russell, both of the 400 block of Old Maid Cemetery Road in Sandersville, were arrested by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.

“After the stop was made and further investigation was conducted, an active Methamphetamine (Rolling Lab) was discovered in the vehicle occupied by Patrick and Rhonda Russell,” Weathersby said. “The couple was arrested and charged for manufacturing methamphetamine.”
