A Taylorsville man was arrested on Friday shortly after 7 p.m. after Deputies discovered drugs.
Sheriff Alex Hodge said, “Jones County Deputies were conducting a check point in the Hebron Community when 31-year-old Fredrick Ducksworth of 59 Cherry Road of Taylorsville attempted to flee from the checkpoint by backing down the road.”
Deputies approached the suspect’s vehicle and witnessed him discarding an object from the passenger side window.
After further investigation, it was determined that Duckworth had thrown a bottle containing alleged crack cocaine into a nearby ditch.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies confiscated a digital scale as well as an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Duckworth was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended.
