Waldrup to seek third term
Qualifying deadline is March 6

From staff reports

Ellisville Mayor Tim Waldrup said he will seek re-election. He is currently serving his second four-year term. Waldrup said he has some projects he wants to continue to work on in Ellisville, and has more projects he wants to begin.

Aldermen are Doug Landrum, Ward 1; Frank Williams, Ward 2; Aaron Heidelberg, Ward 3; James Holifield, Ward 4; and Walter Clark, alderman at large.

No one had qualified to seek office in Ellisville as of Wednesday afternoon. No one had qualified for mayoral and aldermen positions in Sandersville and Soso, either.

Pat Lightsey is mayor of Sandersville. Aldermen are Jimmy Hall, Bob White, Jerry Robinson, Billy DeBoxtel and Harmon Hill.

The Soso mayor is Mike Moore. Aldermen are Paul Holifield, Kip Simpson, Doug Johnston, David Glaser and Byron Craft.

Qualifying for municipal elections began Jan. 1 and ends March 6. Elections for the county’s municipal mayoral, council and aldermen positions will be held May 5. A runoff election, if necessary, will be held May 19.

Party candidates in Ellisville for mayor and alderman must pay a $10 qualifying fee. If seeking office as an independent, those qualifying must submit a petition containing the names of 50 registered voters to the city clerk’s office.
