Published June 22, 2008 12:32 pm - Ferguson leads Red Sox past A’s in Pre-Majors action By Dale McKee, sports@laurelleadercall.com The Red Sox thumped the A’s 11-1 in Friday night Dixie Pre-Majors action at Lonnie J. Hosey Field.
Zach Ferguson had three hits and was the winning pitcher for the Red Sox. Derek Bynum added a couple of singles for the winners while Kaleb Culpepper, Trey Winpigler, and Jordan Koechner added singles. Vito Perna doubled and also helped on the mound for the Red Sox. Gary Boykin, Shawn Nichols, Michael Holt, and Todd McDonnieal all singled for the A’s. Both the Dixie Majors and the Pre-Majors will have doubleheaders Monday night.
