Allen asking for support in Ward 7

Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Marian Arnita Allen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Lee Allen, Sr. of the Currie Community. I have two children, one son, Jack Conley, age nine; and one daughter, Halle Grace, age 5.
I am a graduate of R. H. Watkins High School, Class of 1984. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College in Sociology, with a minor in Biology. After relocating to Minnesota to complete graduate studies, I received a Master’s in social-work from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I worked in the field of Chemical Dependency, Mental Health, In home counseling as well as juvenile delinquency.
Upon the illness of my mother, Juanita, I returned to Laurel to assist my father with overseeing to her medial care. I am currently a Licensed Master Social Worker for Seyah Hospice Care, Inc., Laurel office.
I currently am a member of Queen’s Chapel Baptist Church in Laurel.
Since being back in Laurel, I reside in Ward 7 and have actively been involved in numerous projects, committees, as well as organizations. They are as follows:

Co-Chairman for Oak Park School being recognized as a historical landmark
Co-Chairman for Boston Park Christmas Decoration Committee
Co-Chairman for renaming of Harrison Blvd. to Oak Park Blvd.
Leader for Girl Scout Troop #208
Past Director for After School Program at Queensburg Community Center
Co-chairman in soliciting donations totaling $10,000 for equipment and walking track in Boston Park from area city businesses
