Oakwood, GA. – Wayne Farms LLC was recently named among the top 10 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces in the food, beverage and restaurant industry nationwide by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
The foundation honors America’s Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces with special recognition for the top 100; the best small, medium and large employers; and industry leaders. Rankings are based on employer-provided adoption benefits, such as the amount of financial assistance and paid leave for employees who adopt.
The Wayne Farms adoption program offers employee reimbursement up to $5,000 for a nonspecial-needs child or $6,000 for a special-needs child. This assistance can be used for agency and placement fees, legal fees, medical expenses prior to placement, temporary foster care charges, transportation, immigration and translation fees and counseling fees associated with the placement. The employee leave provisions under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) also apply to adoption circumstances.
“We’re proud to include the adoption assistance program in our benefits package,” said David Malfitano, vice president of human resources. “Wayne Farms is committed to being a company of choice for our employees. This program is just one of the resources we provide to employees to help achieve that goal.”
Wayne Farms LLC is the fourth-largest vertically integrated poultry producer in the United States with annual sales exceeding $1 billion.
