Beat 4 reunion
The Beat Four Class of 1978 is having a 30 year-class reunion at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Waynesboro City Auditorium. We will be having a covered dish dinner. We are not mailing invitations. Suicide prevention
Support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention by participating in the Hattiesburg Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Nov. 8, at the Rails for Trails at Gateway Station. Proceeds will benefit local and national suicide prevention and awareness programs. Registration will be held at the USM Gateway Station at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. To register, donate or to learn more, please log on to www.outofthedarkness.org.
Red Cross Halloween
Red Cross Youth of the Pine Belt is offering a safe and fun-filled Halloween event for children ten years and under with the first annual Pine Belt Community Fall Festival from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Laurel Wal-Mart parking lot. Admission is $3 which entitles children to trunk or treat, games and has a chance on a grand prize as well. Proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way of the Pine Belt Campaign. Karaoke/live band
American Legion Karaoke at the American Legion Hut is now on Friday nights from 8 p.m. until midnight. There will now be a live band on Saturday nights. Phone (601) 425-5554. 1108 N. 9th Ave., Laurel.
Sears club meeting
The Sears Retiree Club of Laurel will meet for lunch Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Country Fisherman on 16th. Ave. Laurel. We are looking for all former employees to join us for lots of good food and fellowship.You will need to pay for your Christmas Banquet at the October meeting.
