Sears club meeting

The Sears Retiree Club of Laurel will meet for lunch Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Country Fisherman on 16th. Ave. Laurel. We are looking for all former employees to join us for lots of good food and fellowship.You will need to pay for your Christmas Banquet at the October meeting.

Heidelberg ambulance meeting

The Town of Heidelberg will hold a meeting to discuss the 12-hour ambulance service issue. All residents of the eastern side of Jasper County are encouraged to attend. Also, a petition for 24-hour service is available at town hall after Thursday. The meeting takes place at town hall Thursday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m.

Lowe family reunion

Thomas J. Lowe family reunion will be Oct. 11, at Shady Grove First Baptist Church, Hwy. 15 North in Laurel. The family will gather for the noon meal around 11 a.m. Bring your favorite foods to share with everyone.

Smith Co. voting

The Smith County Voter’s League will host a political rally at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Cherry Grove Community Center in Taylorsville.
