DMA to meet

The Don’t Mention Age group will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the YWCO in downtown Laurel. Guest speaker will be Becky Sims with the Domestic Abuse Shelter.

LHS retirement reception

Laurel High School will host a reception on May 19 in honor of those retiring at the end of the school year. The reception will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. in the school’s foyer. Carolyn Stone, Lillian McDonald, Charlotte Cahill and Jane Bryant will be honored. The public is invited to attend.

Fedora to speak

Southern Miss Alumni Association Laurel Metro Chapter Spring Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Jones County Junior College Advanced Technology Center. Larry Fedora, head football coach, will be the special guest. Cost will be $15 per person, $25 per couple. An auction will be held and door prizes awarded. All proceeds will benefit Southern Miss scholarships. Variety Show

The final performances for the 2007-08 school year will culminate in the South Jones Variety Show. Featured groups will be the Junior High Chorus, the Grand Champion Jr. High show choir, Infusion, South Jones Singers and the nationally acclaimed Sr. High Show Choir, Company. The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. May 16 at the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Jones County Junior College. Tickets will be on sale at the door.

LLT kids camp

The Laurel Little Theatre Kids Camp, featuring Disney’s “The Jungle Book,” takes place June 2-8 from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. For more information or to sign up, call 601-297-5157 or e-mail dancediva@c-gate.net.
