Taste of the World
The Laurel YWCO has rescheduled its first Taste of the World presentation for Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. Talented local chefs will demonstrate the art of preparing Indian, Italian and Greek food. Guests will enjoy sampling each traditional recipe. Reservations to attend the Taste of the World are required and should be made by Monday, Jan. 26 by calling the YWCO at 601-428-5694. The $10 fee can be paid at the door. Hostesses of the event are Donna Smith and Libby Mulloy.
LLT auditions
After months of renovations, Laurel Little Theatre will reopen the Arabian Theatre with the season opening musical “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” in mid March. Director Wess Hughes will hold auditions on Monday, January 26th and Tuesday, January 27th at 7 p.m. each night. Cast includes 50 adults and 50 students ages 8 and up through high school and college. Downtown meeting
The Laurel Express, the downtown revitalization effort, will hold its general meeting Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the YWCO on Oak Street in Downtown Laurel at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. NEJ pageant
The sixth annual “Winter Wonderland Pageant Review” will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, at The Northeast Jones High School Performing Arts Center in Laurel. This beauty pageant is open to girls ages 0-18 years and boys ages 0-4 years. The pageant is a fundraiser for the Northeast Jones High School Choral Department.
