Jerry Smith of Brookhaven and Debrah Smith of Hattiesburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Smith, to Ryan Windham of Bay Springs, son of Sheila Windham of Bay Springs.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Jimmy Lee Smith and Tinybell Smith and Glenn and Lee Ebeyer of New Orleans, La. She is a graduate of Brookhaven High School. She is attending the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in exercise science.

The future groom is the grandson of Charles Smith of Bay Springs and Catherine Smith of Bay Springs, Edna Windham of Bay Springs and the late B. O. Windham. He is a graduate of Bay Springs High School. He works with Noble Drilling.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at sunset August 16, 2008, in Destin, Fla.
