Dr. and Mrs. Kyle Scott Bateman, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Mari Megan Bateman, to Landon Keith Case, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Jarancik, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Case, all of Brookhaven.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Van Cooley, of Brookhaven, and Col. (Ret.) and Mrs. Thomas Scott Bateman, of Seminary.

The bride-elect is a 2004 honors graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 2006 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. While at Co-Lin, she was a member of the Co-Lin Lady Wolves Softball team and served as Sophomore Class President. She is currently a President's List Scholar at Mississippi State University where she is a member of the Lady Bulldog Softball team and a member of the “M” Club. She will graduate from MSU in December of 2008 with a degree in secondary education.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Nollie Lewis, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Case, all of Brookhaven. He is a 2004 graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center. He also attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Mississippi State University. He is employed with Case Oil Field Services in Brookhaven.

The wedding is Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at the Beach Club in Orange Beach, Ala. A reception will follow in the Island Room of the Beach Club. All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
