Natalie Day Williamson and Gregg Patrick Gibbes were united in marriage in an evening candlelight ceremony on Dec. 29, 2007, at Ellisville First United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Dal Williamson of Laurel. She is the granddaughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. P. “Doc” Willliamson of Laurel and the late Beth Duckworth. Honorary grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Johnson of Ellisville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Patrick Gibbes of Laurel. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Denton Gibbes of Laurel and Catherine Gregg of Summerland and the late Leon Benjamin Gregg.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. David Slaughter. Music was provided by Sally Eaton Wooten, pianist; Rudy Gatlin, pianist and vocalist; and the Anderson United Methodist Choir. Sharon Turner served as wedding director.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of pearl re-embroidered satin. The gown was designed in an all over embroidered pattern and was embellished with tiny crystals and seed pearls trellising the delicate embroidery. The gown was designed with a strapless bodice featuring a dropped waistline. Her A-line skirt flowed into a chapel-length train and was finished with a deeply scalloped border. Her fingertip veil was edged with seed pearls.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister Lane Brianne Williamson of Laurel. Bridesmaids were Lauren Gibbes Musselwhite of Brandon, sister of the groom and Katherine Hastings Pittman of Richton. The bridesmaids wore formal designer gowns of a mocha shade. They carried bouquets of red Mikado roses and eucalyptus tied in satin ribbon. Honorary attendants were Casey Brianne Carter of Laurel, Lauren Husbands Johnson of Laurel and Malerie Nicole Jones of Taylorsville. Their tea-length gowns were of black satin, and their bouquets were replicas of the bridesmaids.

John Patrick Gibbes, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were William Daniel Burroughs, Andrew George Rice and Samuel Neill Thames, all of Laurel.

Christopher Steven Musselwhite and Scott Gerald Staines, both of Brandon and Reggie Leon Clark of Louisville, Ky. served as ushers.

Program and guest attendant was Emily Elizabeth Higginbotham of Laurel. Stephanie Brooke Slaughter of Laurel served as the bridal proxy.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents honored the couple with a dinner at the Laurel Country Club. After the couple departed the wedding ceremony to a lively gospel rendition of “O Happy Day,” the wedding guests were invited to a reception at the Laurel Country Club and danced to music by the band, Meet the Press.

Following a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple is at home in Laurel.
