Justin Cody Phillips and Crystal Marie Ponder of Laurel would like to announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Sandra Crenshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Ponder. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ponder, Carlolyn Williams of Laurel and the late J. M. Williams. She is a 2003 graduate of Northeast Jones High School. She is also a graduate of Mississippi College of Beauty Culture in Laurel where she is the administrative assistant. She is also employed at 1st Impression Salon in Ellisville.

The future groom is the son of Marsha Bates of Laurel and the late Dennis Phillips. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Phillips, the late Margorie Phillips and the late Mr. and Mrs. Terry Trainor. He is a 2004 graduate of Northeast Jones High School and also attended Jones County Junior College where he was a member of Jones on Stage. He is currently employed at Specialty Tool Rental Service in Ellisville.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Laurel Train Depot. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
