United in Matrimony



Marcellyn Kathryn Ann Bush and Matthew Wayne Davis were united in marriage at 6:00 p.m. on June 21, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Laurel.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Arlington Bush of Laurel and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Wray Bush of Laurel, Mrs. June Davis of Brandon and the late Dr. L. L. Davis.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne Davis of Laurel and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Folks of Taylorsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ivor Davis of Newton.

Dr. Randy Turner performed the ceremony assisted by Reverends Marty Fields and Arnold Bush. Music was performed by Matthew Pickering, organist; Sue Bush, pianist; and Dr. Jesse Smith, soloist. Program attendants were Erin Pitts and Caroline Hatfield.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a candlelight V-neck gown accented by Swarovski crystals featuring an A-line skirt with a chapel length train and her mother’s cathedral-length veil of illusion and re-embroidered alencon lace made by her great aunt. The bride carried a formal bouquet of pink with white Rossini roses.

Jennifer Bush of Laurel, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.

Maggie Farrell of Hattiesburg, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Cangelosi of Mandeville, Louisiana; Sarah Howard of Baton Rouge, La.; Kerri Davis of Brandon; Ashley Grant and Erin Lambert both of Hattiesburg; Luci Moore of Mobile, Ala.; and Ashley Pippen of Meridian.

Flower girls were Taylore Steagall of Rockvale, Tenn. and Madison Stinson of Laurel.

Wayne Davis, the groom’s father, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Cameron Edwards of Soso; Jonathan Davis of Brandon; Tyler Ratcliff and Joshua Windham both of Laurel; Jeremiah Rayner, Jason Redd, and Patrick Welch all from Pearl; and Ryan Steagall of Rockvale, Tenn.

Ushers were Kris Holifield, Stevens Bateman, Lewis Bateman, Harrison Pearson, and Taylor Pearson.

After returning from their honeymoon in Antigua, the couple resides in Laurel. The groom is a job superintendent for Bush Construction Company and the bride counsels and recruits for Jones County Junior College.
