United in Matrimony
On March 29, 2008, at 4:30 in the afternoon, Leah Ashley Cage and John Wesley Longwitz were united in marriage. The ceremony took place at Provine Chapel on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daryl Cage of Hollandale, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Franklin Longwitz of Quitman. Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Claudia Cage of Hollandale, and the late Dr. O. D. Dabbs, and the late Mrs. Annie Dabbs Holloman. Grandparents of the groom are Mrs. Hazel Bruister of Butler, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon A. Roberts of Quitman.
The Rev. William Barksdale of Madison officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Mr. Chris Ray, organist, along with Ms. Lori Joyner and Mr. Chris Gregg, soloists.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an original Cosmobella gown of ivory satin, designed with a V-neck beaded embroidered bodice. The mermaid skirt was accented with matching cascading appliques and a detachable chapel length train.
Mrs. Dabbs Smith and Mrs. Rebecca Sanford, sisters of the bride, served as matrons of honor.
Mr. Robert Longwitz, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Mr. William Longwitz, brother of the groom, and Mr. Chase Cage, brother of the bride. Mr. Scott Smith and Mr. Jonathan Sanford, brothers-in-law of the bride, served as ushers.
Following the wedding, family and friends celebrated with the couple at a reception which was held at River Hills Club in Jackson. After a wedding trip to Lake Tahoe, Nev., the couple reside in Ellisville.
