Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gene Hortman Jr. and Marja Van Ruiten Hortman, announce the engagement of their daughter, Natalie Maria Hortman, to John Edward Saucier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomas Saucier of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Norman Gene Hortman of Petal and the late Anna Sue Williams, Hein W. Van Ruiten and Lida M. Van Ruiten Duivenvoorden of The Netherlands. She is an employee of Community Bank.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Oscar Saucier and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson McLure. He is a 2003 graduate of The University of Mississippi where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and of The University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his Master’s of Science degree in public relations. He is currently in the Mississippi Army National Guard and will earn his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in August.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. May 24, 2008, at Eden Condominium, Perdido Key, Fla.
