Curves of Laurel donates to local charities

Photo/Submitted

Over a thousand pounds of food were donated to two Laurel charities recently by Curves of Laurel. The boxed and canned food, donated by new members who enrolled at Curves during the month of March, was given to the Christian Food Mission and the Salvation Army. “This is our most successful membership drive each year, and we are glad to be able to help the local charities at the same time,” say owners Jim and Jane Johnson. Curves is located in Sawmill Mall, Laurel. Receiving the food on behalf of their charities are: (center, left) Robert Smith, Director of the Christian Food Mission; (center, right) Major Jonathan McBride, Corps Officer, and Bonita Flynn, Social Services Director, both of the Salvation Army.
