Teresa Martin took a top honor April 17 at the annual Public Relations Association of Mississippi state conference and awards banquet.

The top award to Jones, the PRism, was given for the “My Space” television commercial series featuring Jones student Kayla Bradley.

Jones also received two Certificate of Merit awards for the President’s Report and the weekly faculty and staff newsletter, Monday Morning News.

This was the first time that the Jones Public Relations and Marketing team members had entered the competition, and each entry required research, planning, implementation, and evaluation information demonstrating the public relations strategy used for each project.

Other information required included budget information, institution history, identification of target audiences, key messages, and measured methods of success.

"It was such an honor to be able to earn the awards, but more importantly this competition helps us know how we're doing and how we measure up, as well as learning where we need to improve," said Martin.
