JCJC offers coaching positions

From staff reports

The Jones County Junior College Board of Trustees voted Friday morning to hire two new head coaches.

Neither coach has accepted or signed a contract.

The Laurel Leader-Call has learned that Lane Burroughs has been offered the Bobcats head baseball coaching position, while Don "Bubba" Skelton will become the new men's head basketball coach.

Burroughs, a Collinsville, Miss., native who spent nine years on Coach Corky Palmer's staff at the University of Southern Miss, comes to JCJC from Kansas State University where he has been an assistant coach.

Skelton, who has been an assistant coach at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, is a former head coach at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
