Maddax James Nicholson was born Jan. 31, 2008 at Forrest General Hospital to Clint and Lauren Nicholson of Laurel. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces at birth. Maternal grandparents are Robert and Angie Smith of Laurel and Jeff and Marlene Mitchell of Oak Grove. Paternal grandparents are Charlotte Nicholson of Laurel and James Nicholson of Columbus. Maternal great-grandparents are Elbin and Jackie McLaurin of Laurel and Christine Smith of Philadelphia. Paternal great-grandparent is Daniel Sullivan of Laurel.
